GameFan started out as a video game and import game catalog for some small store in the middle of nowhere. Hours later, they were famous and biased and too cool for school and all that.
Around 1995, GameFan Books was started to get GameFan a profitable slice of the strategy guide pie. It went okay for a few years. Then they released their controversial Treasures of the Deep guide and everyone was all like "say what?" and the DJ scratched the disc and the music stopped with a SKRRRREEETTTT sound and it got really quiet. Word.
